International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research was found because of the need to gather, support and direct scientific research activities in the field of yoga.

Initiator, founder and president of the Scientific Society is Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD – International Yoga Master, professor at the International Yoga Academy, University professor, President of the Yoga Federation of Serbia and International Advisor of the World Yoga Council of the International Yoga Federation, Honorary Secretary of the International Yoga Federation for Serbia and President of the World Commission for Scientific Yoga Researches with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia, in the International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research.

GOALS

International Society is the scientific institution for interdisciplinary researches in the field of yoga and it also provides scientific services. International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research gathers scientists who practice and research effects of the yoga practice in different scientific disciplines. The aim of this institution is to conduct scientific researches, but also affirmation of the results of conducted researches, gathering of the results from different scientific disciplines in the unique data base, cooperation with another scientific institution and media.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES IN THE FIELD OF YOGA

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research refers yoga instructors for studying scientific and professional literature about yoga supporting them to participate in scientific researches of the effects of yoga practice. Direct participation in the scientific-research activities of the International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research as well as the scientific literature is available to all members of the Yoga Federation of Serbia and students of the International Yoga Academy.

SCIENTIFIC YOGA CONFERENCE

In cooperation with the Yoga Federation of Serbia and International Yoga Academy, International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research organizes International Interdisciplinary Scientific Yoga Conference, in the Congress Center Sava. It gathers the most prominent scientific authorities who study phenomenon of the yoga practice in different scientific fields.

SCIENTIFIC YOGA JOURNAL

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research in cooperation with the International Yoga Academy and Yoga Federation of Serbia publishes scientific journal that presents selected results of the scientific researches in the field of yoga.

ACREDITATION OF THE PROGRAMS

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research as a scientific institution participated in preparation of the programs of continual education for health workers and health associates accredited by the Yoga Federation of Serbia, based on decision of the Health Council of Serbia on December 2010, March 2011 and September 2012. The following programs were accredited:
The training course for Yoga Teachers,
Yoga techniques as help to increase the readiness to stress,
Yoga techniques as help to overcome hypertension,
Yoga techniques as help to increase the readiness to stress in managers,
Yoga in implementation - International symposium of the 1st category.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA CAMPS

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research as the scientific institution participated in preparation of the program for continual professional education in yoga. Twice a year, in cooperation with the Yoga Federation of Serbia it organizes International Yoga Camp (summer and fall) where Yoga Teachers from Serbia and other countries improve their knowledge in yoga methods, guided by the International Yoga Master, Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research, Yoga Federation of Serbia and International Yoga Academy cooperate with prominent international scientific and educational institutions in the field of yoga. There have been signed agreements on scientific-technical cooperation with Patanjali Institute from Haridwar in India, with Kaivalyadhama Institute from Lonavla in India, with the University Vivekananda from Bangalore in India and Faculty for Sports and Physical Education in Belgrade. Members of the Scientific Council are scientific researchers and university professors from the whole world.

SCIENTIFIC BOARD

The most prominent scientific researchers in the field of yoga theory and practice are members of the Scientific Board of Society. Society supports BA, MA and PhD students in achieving academic qualifications in the field of yoga. Society is a modern scientific-research institution that has all necessary capacities for these activities, its stuff is made of 29 doctors of science from different fields with a perspective to grow in order to conduct activities from the Society’s field of work.
