Yoga Teahcers Education at the International Yoga Academy has been carried out for years under professional guidance of Prof. Predrag Nikic,
PhD – International Yoga Master, University professor, International Advisor in the European Yoga Council of the International Yoga Federation,
member of International Yoga Federation Assembly and Honorary president of the Yoga Federation of Serbia, and according to the international yoga
standards. Scientific Council of the Academy gathers the greatest authorities in yoga. He serves as a President of the General Assembly of Yoga Federation of Europe
Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD
has been awarded by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee with Padma Shri award for contribution in the field of yoga. President Pranab Mukherjee honoured 56 eminent personalities with Padma awards at the Civil Investiture Ceremony held on 28th March 2016 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, ministers, diplomats and distinguished guests.
At the end of studies at the International Yoga Academy, certified instructors receive internationally recognized diploma, possibility of obtaining license for work as the yoga instructors, possibility of joining the workshop for yoga instructors aimed to continual education of yoga instructors.
Students of the Academy have possibility to study scientific and professional literature about yoga and possibility to participate in scientific researches of the effects of yoga practice. All students of the Academy have possibility to directly participate in scientific-research activities of the International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research as well as approach to the scientific literature about yoga.
Education of candidates for Yoga Instructors includes 200 to 240 lessons and it lasts for 8 months.
Students go through the training that includes introducing to: yoga psychology, yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy and physiology, yoga theory and
yoga practice. Students go through the phases of assistance, demonstration and giving the yoga classes under the mentoring guidance of Yoga
Master. As part of the curriculum, there are planned 2 colloquia and one seminar per subject. After the training, students have to pass the final exam with a demonstration of graduate class in front of a commission made of three members.
Future instructors are enabled to participate at the International Interdisciplinary Scientific Yoga Conference organized by the International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research.
Future instructors are enabled to participate at the International Yoga Festival. The aim of the Festival is also to make possible for citizens to meet with different school and styles present in the other countries.
Future instructors have opportunity of further professional development by participating in the International Summer Yoga Camp under professional guidance of Prof. PhD Predrag Nikic, organized by the Yoga Federation of Europe and the International Academy for Yoga Teachers Education that takes place every year.
METHOD
Practical classes involve studying of asanas, kriya techniques, pranayama, pratjahara, Djana, Dharana, mantra, mudra, bandha, kirtan...
Students learn how to perform asanas; how to breath properly in position, how to recognize the strategic place of attention and what influence asana realizes, relying on the old resources of Vedas, Upanishads, Geranda Samhita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the experience of the Rishikesh Academy system and experience of the Master Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD.
STYLE
In the International Academy for Yoga Teachers Education, students study Hatha Yoga and other styles of yoga: Tantra, Raja, Bhakti, Nada,
Svara, Art Yoga Similiris and Jnana Yoga.
FINAL EXAM
The candidate (student) is entitled for the final examination (graduation) when he/she submits the following documents:
- confirmation that he/she regularly attended classes during the school,
- confirmation of the passed examinations, colloquia and positive grades at the seminars,
- confirmation that they conducted 5 pre-examination public classes under the supervision of senior instructor (certificate must be signed
separately by each senior instructor, certifying that the candidate fulfills the quality condition in the yoga class conduction).
The final exam is taken before the three members Commission. The candidate defends thesis orally (approximate volume of thesis is up to 60 pages); presents independent yoga class conduction by demonstrating asanas practice; practice of the meditation, pranayama, mudra and bandha techniques; he/she need to express maturity and satisfactory answers to the questions posed by members of the Commission.

The training lasts eight months + preparation for the final exam.
Upon completion of training and final exam, the candidate receives a certificate that allows him/her to work as the Yoga Instructor.
